主讲人简介
Prof. Castaneda Lopez Homero
Ph.D., Materials Science and Engineering, Penn State University, 2001
Professor, Materials Science and Engineering Department, Interim Director National Corrosion Center, Texas A&M
Professor Castaneda’s expertise is in the areas of electrochemistry, materials and corrosion, targeting environmental effects on the metallic chemical degradation and interfacial mechanisms on electrochemical systems. He has 15 years of experience using electrochemical techniques to monitor corrosion, interfacial phenomena in materials for transportation, environment and energy industries. His work has focused on materials evaluation, characterization, and testing of experimental and applied systems for energy, oil and gas industries. He has been a project leader for government and industry project contracts for oil and petrochemical companies related to corrosion control and electrochemical monitoring.
Prior to joining Texas A&M he was Assistant Professor at the University of Akron, prior U Akron he was Principal research Scientist at Battelle Memorial Institute, project leader at the Mexican Petroleum Institute in the electrochemistry and materials area and the technical advisor in energy sector; he was involved as a leader or key staff in different projects related to Electrochemistry, Energy and Corrosion for the oil and gas. Prior MPI he was the Electrochemical Scientist at SIEMENS technology center at Lowell Massachusetts, where he conducted research and development in electrochemical cells for water and energy technology. He received academic awards for best thesis and achievement for graduate studies, government scholarship to Doctorate studies in US. He received the Uhligh awardHe is an active member of National Association of Corrosion Engineers, Electrochemical Society, International Electrochemical Society, American Society of Materials and American Chemical Society. Dr. Castaneda holds four patents and four copyrights for electrochemical monitoring technology and more than 100 papers in peer review and conference proceedings.
